Job title: Supervising Producer Company: American Greetings Job description: Job Description GENERAL SUMMARY: American Greetings is looking for an experienced Producer to oversee video production logistics throughout the pre-production and production process - including hiring and managing the freelance production crew, coordinating the shoot schedule, and budgeting to ensure each production stays on track and runs smoothly and efficiently. Will also liaise with Brand Owners and Celebrity Partners to help establish and maintain strong, positive relationships. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as a partner to the Creative team from ideation and development of pitch related materials and throughout the entire production and post-production process Act as key adviser/liaison to all outside production partners, vendors, contractors, and the internal Creative team Create initial budget estimates and oversee budgets for all productions throughout process Provide input and present options to the Creative team to help deliver compelling content with the highest possible production value on limited budgets Identify industry creative resources and developments and serve as a department expert in ongoing industry innovations, including but not limited to finding cost and process efficiencies and helping to lead Diversity, Inclusion & Equity initiatives with hiring of freelance cast and crew Work closely with AG Brand owners to help establish and manage positive and effective relationships with agents/managers/representatives of our partner talent throughout the process - from initial talks to content launch Manage direct communication, when needed, acting as liaison between Celebrity management, agencies & the AG Brand team Research Celebrity partners (and potential partners) and provide background and insights to the team in order to create both the best creative product as well as the best environment and experience for the talent when working with American Greetings Work closely with Celebrity Representatives (including Assistants, Stylists, Make-up/Hair, Security, etc…) during pre-production and the shoot to identify and provide all necessary needs of the Celebrity Book and communicate with all freelance crew - cinematographers, grip & electric teams, assistant directors, sound recordists, etc. - to ensure every aspect of a production is on time, on budget and runs smoothly Oversee overall logistics on production (shooting) days. Solve any issues that arise. Work with Creative Director, Director, Director of Photography (as well as any other crew that require rentals such as Art or Sound Department) to identify and source all equipment and production rental needs Secure all equipment and other rentals - working with vendors, gathering bids, negotiating costs, coordinating pickups and returns, etc… Work with Finance and Account Management to ensure all purchase orders, production invoices and vendor payments are generated and processed appropriately Secure all necessary insurance paperwork from AG Corporate and their Insurers for locations, equipment rentals and/or set and prop rentals Oversee the securing of releases and freelance paperwork for all cast & crew personnel Coordinate and facilitate any set building, decorating or other studio prep work needed per shoot Handle all communication with cast and crew on prep & shoot days (call sheets, directions, any problems that arise on the day of shoot, etc…) Be aware of and secure all required California employment regulations and forms for shoots (ie: rules regarding child work permits, hour limitations and on-set tutors when using minors, COVID protocols, etc..) Ensure all invoices and payments are received and submitted by cast, crew & vendors Ensure all production expenses are reconciled and expense reports submitted for every production Assist in overseeing that the studio space - including equipment and props - remains well organized and running efficiently Secure any necessary filming permits when shooting on location Act as point person with all location representatives - both during pre-production as well as on shoot days and post-wrap up - for all logistics, problem solving, etc… Experience Required: Required Length & Type of Experience: 7+ years experience as a senior or supervising producer overseeing all aspects of video production Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: A deep understanding of the production process and ability to troubleshoot any problems that arise Highly organized Exemplary time/project management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Able to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced environment and handle a variety of personality types Education Required: Bachelor's Degree Career Site Category Creative Jobs Expected salary: Location: Van Nuys, CA Apply for the job now!
