American/Singaporean couple expecting newborn

Other Jobs To Apply

No other job posts for this day.

Hello! We are an American and Singaporean couple with a friendly four year old dog. We are expecting a baby boy in January and we are looking for a live-in helper in Serangoon Gardens, Singapore.

About us: This is our first baby. We are both journalists, and have lived in Myanmar but have also extensively traveled to the Philippines and Indonesia, and understand regional cultures and contexts. We both work full time. We are committed to being ethical employes.

About the position: We are looking for a helper to start in December so we can get to know each other, build a happy home and establish a routine before our baby arrives. We work from home, but will need our helper to be a daytime carer for our baby especially when we return to work.

What we need: We are looking for a helper who can support our new family with household chores including infant care, changing diapers, cleaning and tidying house, preparing and cooking meals, laundry, ironing and running errands, like grocery shopping. It is our first time being parents and having a helper so we appreciate someone who is kind, patient and supportive, especially because we are welcoming you to our home and learning as we go!

We also need someone to help care for and love our dog like our own. She has a walker for half the week, but you will sometimes need to help with walking her.

We are looking for someone who: is currently in Singapore, has experience working with expat families, recent newborn experience, and is able to provide a reference. It is important that you love both babies and dogs, and that you don’t use your mobile phone while walking the dog. Bonus if you love to cook as we love to try different types of cuisines and recipes. We currently cook at home on our own, but if you can help with that after the baby is born, that would be great. Gardening experience would be an added plus!

Start date: early December 2024

Our offer: The chosen candidate will have their own room (not with the baby) in our landed home in Serangoon Gardens, as well as a semi-private bathroom. We will provide wi-fi. There is a market nearby and we live a few minutes away from the bus stop. Salary to be discussed, and you will have one day off a week.

We look forward to talking with you and answering any questions you have!
