About the position

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Assistant VP, Java Developer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available). The purpose of the role is to design, develop and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. You will be responsible for the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. This includes ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance, as well as cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements and ensure seamless integration with business objectives. You will also be expected to stay informed of industry technology trends and contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support existing application EFM (Electronic Flow Monitoring).
  • Be part of development and modernization of new Front Office application - Service Tools 2.
  • Analyze, design, test and implement components in a highly distributed, low latency platform.
  • Provide support to all high priority production issues to ensure business stability by coordinating with second level support team.
  • Ensure adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
  • Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with other functions/business divisions.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks and set objectives for team members.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Java and experience with industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
  • Experience in developing scalable and maintainable software solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex information effectively.
  • Experience in secure coding practices and unit testing.

Benefits

  • Salary range: \$179,982 - \$197,981 per year.
