About the position

The Associate - AFS - ERI - LATAM position at BNP Paribas involves supporting the origination and execution of financial projects, particularly in the Energy and Infrastructure sectors in Latin America and the U.S. The role includes financial modeling, project documentation, due diligence, and structuring deals to meet client goals. The associate will work closely with various teams within the bank to provide comprehensive solutions and will be involved in marketing efforts to potential clients. The position allows for some telecommuting and requires travel to LATAM and the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Support on origination & execution including financial modeling and running multiple sensitivities.
  • Execution and origination of project and structured deals in Latin America & the U.S.
  • Manage project documentation and the closing process, interfacing with counsels.
  • Conduct project due diligence liaising with consultants (legal, technical, environmental, insurance, tax, etc.).
  • Structure and advise on the best structures and products to achieve clients' goals.
  • Utilize the full resources of the Bank to provide optimal solutions for clients.
  • Structure and close bank, project, and structured bonds, Term Loan A or B project finance, and related structured debt transactions.
  • Execute lead arranged (bond or bank) or advisory limited recourse or structured financings.
  • Collaborate with Coverage/LCT, Syndications, Global Markets, M&A Advisory, etc.
  • Market to potential clients through pitches, proposals, and presentations.
  • Lead execution credit approvals and due diligence processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (U.S. or Foreign Equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in project or structured finance at a major financial institution, corporation, or rating agency.
  • Experience with credit, financial analysis, quantitative analysis, and modeling.
  • Full credit analysis and preparation of credit applications for internal risk approvals.
  • Familiarity with financial statements, accounting, and financial terminology.
  • Experience handling complex project financing or corporate accounts.
  • Spanish language proficiency.
