The Associate Care and Support Specialist provides People Success (PS) guidance, direction and influence for the enterprise. They function as consultants and a critical business partner and advisor to their business areas on all PS matters, as well as support investigations and high-risk issues. They provide day-to-day administration of associate relations activities for Ulta Beauty. They facilitate an open line of communication to the enterprise to ensure policies, procedures, performance management and disciplinary action are followed properly. They provide clarification and resolve issues by being a mediator and problem solver. They evaluate, compile, analyze and report out data points to identify trends both positive and negative to ensure alignment towards PS goals and company strategic imperatives. They function as a center of excellence to reduce risk to the organization and ensure the associate journey is positive. The duties of an Associate Care & Support Specialist also center on achieving business objectives by identifying opportunities to solve business problems through broad and up-to-date knowledge of employment law, organizational behavior, change management, data analytics, best practices and company policy.

Responsibilities

  • Provides expert guidance to associates and leaders on PS matters for appropriate action and partnership specifically in the areas of performance, corrective action, and policy administration.
  • Support business areas and Business Partner in leading and conducting investigations including coordinating intake, fact finding, documentation, and recommended actions.
  • Provide expert coaching to business on resolution to specific conflict situations and provide recommendations. Provide guidance on corrective action administration, appropriate level and proper documentation.
  • Lead and investigates issues that surface through guest services and social media for assigned business areas
  • Analyze company reporting to effectively make timely recommendations to alleviate risk or positively impact the business and/or associates including policies, processes, precedent and standard operating procedures.
  • Diagnose training opportunities.
  • Maintain current knowledge and provide consultation in the areas of PS issues, policies, programs and processes.
  • Assist with social media strategies within PS to ensure compliance and risk management relative to PS processes and practices.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • High level of discretion and judgment, particularly when dealing with confidential matters
  • Ability to investigate complex reports of conflict, harassment, and discrimination claims with precision
  • Ability to effectively interact with associates at all levels within the organization, listening to and acknowledging associate sentiment, educating on alternative points of view
  • The ability to work in a fast moving and changing environment
  • Developed presentation skills
  • Ability to adjust work schedule according to the business needs
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, 5 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Technically proficient - particularly in MS Outlook, SAP, Word and Excel - with ability to learn additional programs and systems as needed.

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred
