We are currently seeking a <strong>Gameplay Programmer (Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior)</strong> to contribute to upcoming titles built in <strong>Unreal Engine 5</strong>. In this role, you’ll collaborate with technical leadership and cross-disciplinary teams to implement gameplay systems, optimize performance, and solve technical challenges.</p><p><br>This position may be performed remotely within the U.S or from our studio located in Austin, TX. </p><p><br><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Implement Gameplay Features & Tools: </strong>Use C++ to build gameplay systems and tools based on design documentation and team collaboration.<br><strong>Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: </strong>Work closely with designers, artists, and animators to integrate gameplay mechanics, assets, and animations smoothly.<br><strong>Debug & Optimize: </strong>Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues ranging from bugs to performance concerns.<br><strong>Task Management: </strong>Manage your workload efficiently, communicate progress, and proactively improve workflows.<br></p><p><strong>Grow & Improve:</strong></p><p><strong>As an associate:</strong> Learn from the team, take ownership of tasks, and grow your technical skillset.</p><p><strong>At a Mid-Level:</strong> Own features, contribute to system design, and support teammates.</p><p><strong>As a Senior: </strong>Lead feature development, mentor others, and contribute to technical direction.</p><p><br><strong>Who You Are:</strong></p><p><br></p><p>We’re open to candidates at different career stages. Experience expectations scale by level:</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Associate Level </strong></p><ul><li>1–3 years of professional or equivalent experience (including internships or shipped indie projects. </li><li>Solid foundation in C++</li><li>Familiarity with Unreal Engine</li><li>Strong desire to learn and grow</li></ul><p><strong>Mid-Level</strong></p><ul><li>3–5+ years of professional game development experience</li><li>Shipped at least one PC or console title</li><li>Strong C++ skills</li><li>Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5</li></ul><p><strong>Senior</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years of professional experience</li><li>Multiple shipped titles</li><li>Deep C++ expertise</li><li>Strong Unreal Engine knowledge</li><li>Experience leading features and mentoring teammates</li></ul><p><strong>All Levels Should Have:</strong></p><ul><li>Working knowledge of Unreal Engine systems (Blueprints, AI, animation, physics, networking)</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills</li><li>Passion for gameplay quality and player experience</li><li>Adaptability and willingness to iterate</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively</li><li>U.S. work authorization (no sponsorship required)</li></ul><p><strong>Bonus XP</strong></p><ul><li>Multiplayer gameplay & network replication</li><li>AI systems and navigation</li><li>Advanced animation systems</li><li>Console development experience (PlayStation, Xbox, Switch)</li><li>Computer Science or related degree</li></ul><p>$60,000-$130,000.
