We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Business Development Executive (Remote) with hands-on experience in Upwork and other freelance platforms. The ideal candidate will be confident in client interactions, skilled in proposal writing, and experienced in handling international clients, with the ability to work in alignment with the EST time zone. Responsibilities:

  • Identify, analyze, and shortlist relevant job opportunities across Upwork and other freelance platforms (e.g., Freelancer, Fiverr, Guru, PeoplePerHour) in alignment with the company’s core services and tech stack.
  • Manage the end-to-end bidding lifecycle, including job discovery, qualification, proposal drafting, submission, follow-ups, and closure.
  • Create customized, client-focused proposals, quotations, and supporting documents based on project scope, timelines, and technical requirements.
  • Engage with prospective international clients via chat, email, and discovery calls to understand business needs, validate project feasibility, and qualify leads.
  • Coordinate closely with internal technical and delivery teams to prepare accurate solution briefs, timelines, and effort estimates.
  • Maintain structured records of bids, client communications, leads, and follow-ups using internal trackers or CRM tools.
  • Monitor proposal performance, platform analytics, and response rates, and share regular reports on bidding outcomes and pipeline status with the line manager.
  • Convert one-time project wins into long-term engagements by maintaining professional communication and post-win follow-ups.
  • Support proactive and reactive lead generation efforts, including direct outreach and platform-based prospecting, when required.

Requirements:

  • 2-4+ years of hands-on experience in Upwork bidding and business development, preferably within the IT / software services industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing and growing international client portfolios, particularly across USA, UK, Canada, and European markets.
  • Strong understanding of freelance platforms, including Upwork job filters, proposal best practices, and client qualification techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to confidently handle client discussions and requirement-gathering calls.
  • Professional, polished, and client-oriented communication style suitable for direct interaction with international stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setup, manage deadlines, and maintain consistent follow-ups.
  • Prior experience working with Canadian clients will be considered a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, LinkedIn prospecting, email outreach, or Upwork platform trends is an added advantage.
  • Willingness and availability to work full-time during EST business hours (7:00 PM – 4:00 AM PKT).
