Our Business Strategy and Analytics Internship will provide a hands-on experience in a challenging, interesting, and rewarding environment. Qualified interns will experience different functions of our State Management department, including working on product strategy, product development, and competitive intelligence. As an intern, you will be provided the opportunity to directly impact GEICO's business metrics by working alongside state managers to develop and execute growth and profitability strategies for our insurance business. You will be responsible for looking creatively at business problems and working on long-term projects throughout the summer. Towards the end of your internship, you will present your findings and recommendations to senior management and officers. Starting from day one, your work will have an impact, forming the basis for truly transformative solutions. During your paid 10-week summer internship, you will: Research creative ways to assess risk Understand and more accurately predict customer behavior and the likelihood of a claim Work on strategic and analytical projects that will impact GEICO’s growth and profitability results Query large datasets via SQL/SAS and organize and analyze metrics and key performance indicators in Excel Develop and present projects to senior management Learn how GEICO collaborates with state insurance departments and regulators Meet regularly with State Managers and Senior Leaders in one-on-one mentor meetings Candidate Qualifications & Skills: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or other relevant major, with expected graduation between December 2026 and May 2027 Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Please upload ALL transcripts as part of the application process) Excellent communication, problem-solving, and creative thinking abilities Demonstrated analytical, mathematical, and data management skills Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and some additional programming skills Must live within commutable distance from our Chevy Chase, MD office and work a hybrid schedule, including working from the office at least four days per week Annual Salary $26.46 - $41.21 The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
