About the position

Kiewit's South Central District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include mass grading, drainage, paving, utility, and more. Although most of our work is regionally based in the south-central region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the United States. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry as opposed to design.

Responsibilities

  • Previous land/construction survey or engineering experience a plus
  • Proficiency in CAD is required (at least one, all 3 is a plus): Trimble Business Center, MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans to generate Field Layout (lines and points), Estimates (takeoff for all disciplines), 3D models (surfaces, corridors, and structures)
  • Knowledge of field Survey procedures and equipment
  • Assist in remote support of Data Collectors and Machine Control
  • Able to train in person or remote in CAD and survey equipment (DCs/Machines) for Survey crews, Engineers, and Estimators
  • Must have solid written and verbal communication skills for clear communication for remote support
  • Interact daily with Estimators, Project management, Survey crews, and Operations crews

Requirements

  • 3 years' experience in Construction Survey, Dimensional Control, Industrial Measurement, or a related field is required
  • Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to perform calculations (area, volume, circumference, proportion, percentage)
  • Dynamic thinker with the desire to lead, motivate and mentor teams
  • Self-starter with the ability to set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity
  • Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work individually and as a team
