JOB PURPOSE Developing and executing product and business strategy in a world of rapid technological and social change requires a highly capable, highly knowledgeable, and highly engaged team. The Sustainability and Business Development Business Unit is tasked with attaining Honda's sustainability and decarbonization goals across our entire value chain. To achieve this vision, Honda needs to ensure that all of our energy use across Scopes 1, 2, 3 comes from zero carbon sources. The Carbon Neutrality Specialist is responsible for driving activity to achieve carbon neutrality across the Honda supplier, dealer, and logistics networks, with direction from senior team members. Carbon neutrality across these areas of the business will incorporate a mix of renewable energy, energy efficiency, fuel source switching, and partner education. This position maintains close relationships with Regional Planning, Supplier Sustainability, Logistics groups, and external advisors to ensure activity aligns with the company goal of carbon neutrality. Additionally, in coordination with the other business units, this role is responsible for assisting with the development of roadmaps and driving activity for target achievement. The CN Specialist also supports in the enhancement of existing programs that contribute to the Supplier, Dealer, and Logistics decarbonization roadmaps

Responsibilities

  • Logistics Supplier Green Excellence Program With direction from the Sr. Specialist, functions as program/project advisor and drive implementation of the developed roadmap through the Honda Logistics Green Excellence Program
  • Data Collection and Validation Partner with key stakeholders across the North American region to facilitate the collection of complete and accurate activity data for GHG reporting Coordinate with partners in Global Office in Japan to consolidate and verify data for public sustainability reporting
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and programs to implement within Sustainability and Business Development group business scope including enhancements to the Supplier, Dealer, and Logistics Carbon Neutrality Programs
  • Dealer Carbon Neutrality Program Enhance the Green Dealer Program to drive activity towards dealer carbon neutrality and provide support to the program owner and renewable energy procurement leader
  • Support the Sr. Specialist on logistics decarbonization roadmap development and execution of related projects
  • Drive activity through participation within working groups of the North American Environmental Committee

Requirements

  • BS/BA in engineering, sustainability, business, or equivalent work experience
  • 0-3 years general experience in the supply chain, sustainability, and/or manufacturing industries
  • Knowledge of Honda operations - planning, R D manufacturing, sales, quality, service, and customer support is preferred
  • Ability to comprehend, identify and analyze policies that influence business strategies.
  • Strong presentation skills and confidence in interacting with all levels of management.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and visual) including report and proposal preparation.
  • Strong problem-solving & analytical skills
  • Strong planning and scheduling capabilities with strong customer orientation focus

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree is a plus
  • Knowledge of Honda operations - planning, R D manufacturing, sales, quality, service, and customer support is preferred
