The US base salary range for this full-time position is provided below:

Salary Range: $150,000 - $250,000

 
The range represents the amount bnsf | tech reasonably expects to pay for the position based on the level, scope, and responsibilities of the role.  Individual compensation and level of position offered is determined by the hiring location and additional factors including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay and bonus eligibility, BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

 
This is a full-time remote
position. Employees may work from anywhere within the contiguous 48 states of the United States

 

Travel is up to 20%. Employees will be required to occasionally travel to our corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, TX for in person meetings. Travel expenses for business needs will be covered by BNSF. 

 

This position is open to candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States. We are also open to sponsoring H-1B transfers, TN nonimmigrant status, and STEM OPT candidates with at least 2 years of remaining eligibility.

We are seeking a Sr UX Designer, who is passionate about shaping the future of AI-native intelligent physical logistic systems. As a Sr UX designer, you will define the experience for specific UX journeys and products, turning cutting-edge AI capabilities into meaningful proactive and trustworthy experiences for BNSF customers. You will also build specific design system components that are reusable for multiple AI driven- experiences.

  • Independently own designing and shipping end to end user journeys for specific areas, working closely with Front end teams and partner teams.
  • Understand customer and user requirements and how cutting edge AI capabilities can blend to produce proactive and trustworthy experience across surfaces (ex: mobile, desktop). 
  • Iterate with customers and end users to drive metrics and adoption.
  • Champion for reusability of UX and design system, connecting dots across experiences.
  • Use technical understanding of front end stacks to design performant experiences.
  • Work actively with engineering team and product/business teams through mocks, prototypes, figma-type of tools actively.
  • Bring best practices into Supply Chain industry and have deep understanding of Supply Chain and Logistics roles and personas and their expectation of the tools.

Basic Qualifications

 

  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in Product design, driving UX alongside technical teams 
  • Proven capability in designing side-by-side with engineering teams scalable UX solutions
  • Working knowledge of front-end stacks, design systems, modern design tools, AI-driven experiences and responsive platforms
  • Working understanding of design operations, persona and customer needs, UX metrics that drive adoption iteratively (with external and internal customers)
  • Curiosity and desire to gain experience in best practices for multimodal and AI-native experiences and design
  • Working knowledge of usability principles and techniques

 

Preferred Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience at the intersection of Computer Science, Interaction Design, HCI or related field; building technology and AI based software experiences with engineering teams
  • Strong foundation in Engineering or Computer Science, or a core UX Design background, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively 
  • Career experience blending Design and Product roles, enabling a clear definition of the “what” and a solid understanding of the “how” to partner successfully with high-performing engineering team
  • Proven bias for action, with a track record of managing multiple priorities and delivering iterative solutions in fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Familiarity and genuine interest in Supply Chain and rail-related products and technologies
  • A curious mindset and willingness to innovate at the forefront of UX evolution in an AI-native, intelligent, multi-modal world
  • Able to work now and in the future without BNSF’s assistance (whether monetary, through sponsorship, or otherwise) in obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization (including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN nonimmigrant status).
