Summary Job Description: Seeking Charge Nurse! Baptist Health Floyd, 2F Progressive Care Unit Full-time (36 Hours Weekly), Days (7am-7pm) Benefit Eligible $$ Sign On Bonus Eligible for Experienced External Candidates Only $$ Job Duties: Responsible for acting as a resource nurse for the department. This is an entry-level leadership position responsible for the coordination of care on designated shifts. He/she will provide leadership to the staff members of the unit in the area of patient care. This position will work alongside the team and provide direct patient care while determining needed staffing fluctuations during shifts, responding to departmental concerns, address immediate staff issues and coordinate patient flow. This position has immediate oversight of employees while performing the same or directly related work as those the position leads. About the Unit: The 2F Progressive Care Unit, also known as 2F PCU, is a 16-bed intermediate level of care unit between the Inpatient Units and the Critical Care units. While the unit specializes in cardiovascular care nurses will encounter a variety of diagnoses, such as CHF, dysrhythmias, DKA, respiratory issues, sepsis, etc. While working closely with an interdisciplinary team, nurses provide excellent care for a high acuity-based population. 2F PCU is a great place for nurses to cultivate and expand their assessment skills while managing several drips and other specialized procedures. New Graduate RNs are welcome. Qualifications: Graduate of an approved nursing program, holding a minimum of an ASN. Current Indiana or compact state RN license. BLS for Healthcare Provider required. ACLS certification required (obtained within 12 months of hire). One year of nursing experience required; One year of experience in area of specialty preferred.
