We are looking for a Chief Pharmacy Officer to join us on our journey to make it drastically easier for customers to find, choose, afford, and engage with the services, products, and professionals they need to get and stay healthy! This position will sit on-site in Seattle, WA #everydaybetter Key job responsibilities - Stay informed of local, state, and federal laws related to pharmacy practice, including changes or developments and their impact on Amazon Pharmacy and its customers - Collaborate with Safety, Compliance, Legal, Business, and technical stakeholders to design and implement operational process changes to build scalable, durable operational solutions. - Serve as a pharmacy practice expert to other teams in the organization. Includes advising business and product teams to ensure pharmacy requirements are met. - Align policies and initiatives with requirements and demands of regulators and accrediting/licensing bodies, including but not limited to: Boards of Pharmacy, National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, URAC, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S Food and Drug Administration, and the United States Pharmacopeia - Educate pharmacy staff on policies, reporting guidelines, and expectations as they relate to best quality practices - Provide insight into new and ongoing projects and efforts - Partner with operations management to review processes regularly to ensure optimal efficiency and embrace continuous quality improvements - Ability to think strategically - Review escalated issues for resolution. Interface with clients and team members as needed to resolve - Serve on the Quality Management Committee and attend quarterly meetings - Lead all Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) that may be clinical in nature - Review and approve clinical resources utilized by staff - Distribute clinically significant updates to employees - Partner with the Safety and Compliance teams to resolve any Quality Related Events, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Action Plans that impact patient safety A day in the life The Chief Pharmacy Officer leads the development and implementation of evidence-based clinical guidelines and best practices to deliver exceptional pharmaceutical care at Amazon Pharmacy. This senior clinical leader ensures rigorous adherence to the highest standards of patient care, clinical excellence, and professional practice, while raising the bar for compliance with state and federal regulations. They provide clinical oversight and strategic guidance across our pharmacy operations, establishing quality metrics and clinical outcomes that exceed industry benchmarks. As the senior clinical leader, they connect innovations in customer experience, business, and technology, with deep pharmaceutical pharmacy industry and patience expertise, ensuring our strategies and initiatives are grounded in sound clinical judgement. They will enhance our decision-making processes, and reinforce our commitment to excellence in pharmaceutical care and patient safety.
