RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position is responsible for assisting in management of our total Meat Products, Grocery Products, Deli, Produce and Food Service business, representing 14M LBS and $51MM in net sales annually.
  • Will work closely with our current Senior Customer Executive responsible for Wegmans.
  • Establishes quarterly, 6-month and annual objectives that meet corporate category volume brand volume, market share, promotional spending, logistical efficiencies, and profit objectives for the total business.
  • Executes distribution, shelving, merchandising, pricing (DSMP) objectives set by Corporate and Customer Regional Manager.
  • Reviews and interprets reports from Category Sales Strategy Team to effectively evaluate and direct trade funds.
  • Provides management with pertinent feedback regarding local customer and competitive activity including competitive activity through SWOT analysis.
  • Penetrates Headquarter and store level department management of the assigned retailer's organization to implement sales and marketing initiatives and maximize customer development.
  • Interprets information from Category Sales Strategy Team regarding category sales, brand sales, share growth, and promotional efficiencies.
  • Continues to participate in learning and developmental workshops and activities in local, regional, and national meetings intended to improve selling techniques, knowledge of customer and company, and other business practices designed to enhance effectiveness in the marketplace.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of sales/marketing/sales strategy experience.
  • Record of successful sales and/or business analytics experience.
  • Pattern of initiative.
  • Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment on a variety of complex projects.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to take opportunities from conception to execution.

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of sales/marketing/sales strategy experience.
  • Experience calling on Wegmans Corporate Headquarters.
  • Lives near the Wegmans Corporate Headquarters.

LOCATION: Home Office, Rochester NY area.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the Customer Executive role is between $79,350 -$111,100 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
