Job Summary We are scaling our data labeling operations and looking for an experienced Data Labeling Lead to oversee the image labeling processes that power our computer vision projects. Reporting to the Senior Technical Project Manager for Data Science, you will play a critical role in working with customer and ThreeV data to generate the high-quality labels needed to train, fine-tune and improve our computer vision algorithms applied to real world social impact-oriented use cases. Your expertise in labeling workflows, tools, and internal/external team management will help accelerate our platform’s success and maximize the value we deliver to clients. Key Responsibilities • Oversee and manage large scale image labeling workflows, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and consistency. • Develop detailed labeling instructions in collaboration with data scientists, subject matter experts (SMEs), and customers. • Manage and coordinate vendor labeling teams to meet project timelines and quality benchmarks. • Perform research and use customer feedback to identify and adopt the latest labeling techniques, enhance annotation accuracy and improve our labeling tooling and infrastructure. • Conduct training sessions for both internal and external labelers, ensuring they are proficient in the required tools and methods. • Lead multiple projects simultaneously, using excellent time management and organizational skills to balance priorities. • Apply critical thinking to solve labeling challenges and support the continuous improvement of our machine learning models. • Review labelled images periodically and work in tandem iteratively with the labelling team. Minimum Qualifications • 5+ years of experience managing labeling teams delivering high volume annotation projects. • 7+ years of hands-on experience in labeling for machine learning, ideally for computer vision. • Strong experience using multiple labeling tools (e.g., CVAT, Encord, etc.) and platforms. • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work across partners, customers, technical teams, and company leadership. • Solid understanding of computer vision and machine learning principles as they relate to labeling projects. Preferred Qualifications • Prior work in the Power & Utility industry is a significant plus and profiles will be prioritized. • Experience working closely with data scientists and machine learning engineers, particularly in projects involving physical assets and infrastructure inspections. • Experience operating in agile and dynamic development environments such as early-stage startups. Education • Bachelor’s degree minimum, preferably in a relevant field such as: Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical or scientific discipline. Other educational backgrounds are encouraged to apply especially if Minimum or Preferred Qualifications above are met. • A Master’s degree is preferred but not required, especially if the candidate has extensive practical experience in labeling workflows and leading teams.
