The Difference You Make: The Sr. Associate, Underwriting plays a critical role in managing credit risk for the Dealer Commercial Services business by independently reviewing, analyzing, and weighing all aspects of complex credit applications. Serving as a key resource to underwriters and loan originators, this role helps drive sound credit decisions, strengthen portfolio performance, and deliver structured lending solutions that meet both customer needs and organizational risk standards. Position Summary Underwrite complex commercial loan transactions by analyzing borrower business history, financial statements, cash flow, and collateral to assess creditworthiness and risk exposure. Structure, recommend, and discuss appropriate loan terms with customers to support long-term, profitable lending relationships. Act as a subject matter resource for underwriters and loan originators, providing guidance on deal structure, credit considerations, and risk mitigation. Manage and monitor an assigned loan portfolio, ensuring financial information is current, covenant requirements are met, and overall credit quality is maintained. Review loan inquiries and respond to client requests in the absence of the assigned relationship or case manager to ensure continuity of service. Monitor past-due and upcoming maturity reports, identifying risks, documenting findings, and supporting timely resolution. Prepare clear, well-documented credit findings and recommendations to support internal credit decisions and approvals. Education Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, or a related field – Required. Experience 9+ years of experience in financial analysis, structuring, and underwriting commercial loans – Required. Experience with auto syndications. – Preferred. Skills Commercial credit analysis and underwriting. Financial statement analysis and cash flow evaluation. Loan structuring and collateral assessment. Credit risk identification and mitigation. Preparation of credit and findings reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook. Strong analytical and decision-making abilities. Clear and professional written and verbal communication. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple files and priorities simultaneously. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
