About the position

The Army Program Division is seeking a Department Chief Engineer (CE) for the Army Multi-Domain ISR Operations and Systems (N212) department, which focuses on enhancing the Army's ability to collect intelligence from multi-domain sensors and process it into actionable intelligence. The CE will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the execution of a high-impact technical work program and will be expected to provide thought leadership and mentor the next generation of technical leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Work Program Execution by advising Project Leaders on aligning technical work with sponsor priorities.
  • Engage directly with sponsors to influence decisions through data-driven recommendations.
  • Assist Project Leaders in developing executable plans and schedules for conducting work.
  • Manage laboratory capital investments and budgets, ensuring necessary software and tools are available.
  • Build connections with MITRE Labs and leverage resources to support work program execution.
  • Support planning and execution of initiatives by leveraging technical and operational expertise.
  • Manage the Mission, Value Chain process within the department.
  • Review all deliverables and ensure technical quality of products provided to the sponsor.
  • Stay aware of innovative technical solutions developed in the laboratories.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in technologies critical to the department, including electronic warfare, software systems engineering, signal processing and fusion, data analytics, sensor systems engineering, and intelligence operations.
  • Proven track record of leading innovative and complex projects and teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience growing and managing technical teams.
  • Understanding of Army operations, organizational constructs, priorities, and missions.
  • Knowledge and experience in navigating the Department of Defense Acquisition processes.
  • Strong understanding of Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, and Mission Engineering.
  • Familiarity with the DoD intelligence community and intelligence systems.
  • Familiarity with intelligence workflows, target collection process, ISR, and the kinetic/non-kinetic targeting process.
  • Possess and maintain an active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Army PEO IEW&S and Army Intelligence organizations.
  • Bachelor's Degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cyber.
  • Deep understanding of Army doctrine, systems, and policies.
