With a focus on student success, economic mobility and community engagement, FIU is redefining what it means to be a public research university.<br><br><strong><strong>Job Summary<br><br></strong></strong>The ADA and Accessibility Director oversees the management of the University's compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, serving as the University's ADA/504 Coordinator. This role has primary responsibility for managing the interactive accommodation process for employee requests and assists in oversight and management of program, services, facilities, and digital resource accessibility. The Director works closely with departments to identify accessibility barriers and implement solutions that promote an accessible environment.<br><br><ul><li>Serves as ADA/504 Coordinator, overseeing and leading the development, implementation and monitoring of ADA compliance and accessibility programs to ensure the organization meets legal requirements.</li><li>Collaborates with departments to improve accessibility across the institution.</li><li>Establishes policies and procedures to manage the interactive accommodation process for employee requests and for enterprise-wide ADA compliance. Oversees and leads requests for accommodations by employees of the FIU enterprise. Documents and tracks accommodation requests ensure effective implementation and follow-up.
