Lead the Future of Fleet with 7-Eleven!

The Commercial Fleet team at 7‑Eleven manages a broad portfolio of fleet payment solutions designed to drive B2B traffic to more than 8,000 retail fuel locations. Our 7FLEET Diesel Network—nearly 500 7‑Eleven®, Speedway®, and Stripes® stores across 26 states—supports the needs of professional drivers nationwide.

We’re seeking a strategic, results‑driven Director of Commercial Fleet to lead growth, shape fleet strategy, and oversee high‑impact operations across this dynamic business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team responsible for 7‑Eleven’s fleet fueling program across all retail locations, overseeing strategic growth and operational excellence.
  • Direct and inspire a team of ~20 professionals—including sales, service, analytics, and project coordination—managing large fleet accounts, driving technology initiatives, and overseeing marketing and operational efforts to increase fleet sales. This team is a largely remote team of 20, promoting high performance, communication, and collaboration across regions.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners—including Fuel Pricing, Fuel Accounting, Supply & Trading, and others—to enhance the value add of the Fleet business and the Diesel Network.
  • Oversee the 7FLEET Diesel Network, comprising ~500 high‑speed diesel fueling locations (CFLs), with plans for expansion across new stores.
  • Manage mixed-fleet sales across ~8,000 fuel locations, contributing to an annual fuel volume of ~1.4 billion gallons annually.
  • Own the capital budget planning for all fleet offerings, including equipment, system upgrades, and infrastructure investments across ~500 high‑speed diesel lanes.
  • Lead relationships with major card processing partners (WEX, FleetCor, Comdata) and ensure seamless card acceptance, operational reliability, and POS technology integration.
  • Manage key customer relationships with national trucking companies, brokers, and B2B fleet partners through a remotely distributed sales team.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Digital, Technology, and IT teams to implement POS systems, fleet technologies, digital integrations, and store‑level enablement.
  • Drive implementation of Salesforce, including sales processes, customer pipeline visibility, and reporting enhancements.
  • Oversee profitability analysis, deal evaluation, and margin optimization for fleet programs.
  • Develop and deliver training for franchisees and store employees to ensure consistent execution of fleet programs and customer experience standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to convert stores to Smartdesq systems, enhance diesel lane capabilities, and improve overall fleet infrastructure.
  • Represent the fleet business at industry events and trade shows, supporting market visibility and strategic partnerships.
  • Build cross-functional alignment, proactively identify resource needs, and support team expansion (4–5 additional roles driven by business growth).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience: 10+ years in strategy, finance, operations, and sales—preferably in Fleet
  • Expertise: Deep knowledge of regulations, vendor/supplier management, and customer operations.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at the executive level.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong commercial insight and the ability to evaluate complex deal structures.
  • Presence: Executive-level communication and crisis leadership skills.
