Job Summary:

Walgreens, a leading global pharmacy and retail health organization, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Voice & Data Networking to oversee and drive the enterprise-wide voice and data networking strategy. This role will be responsible for ensuring robust, secure, and scalable networking infrastructure that supports Walgreens digital transformation, operational efficiency, and business continuity. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with deep technical expertise, proven experience in managing complex networking environments, and the ability to collaborate across multiple business and technology functions.

This position is corporate remote, offering the flexibility to work from home while leading critical networking initiatives that impact Walgreens global operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise voice, data, and network infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.

  • Develop and execute a long-term networking strategy aligned with Walgreens business objectives and digital transformation goals.

  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team of networking engineers, architects, and administrators, fostering professional growth and accountability.

  • Partner with IT security, cloud, and application teams to implement secure networking solutions across corporate, retail, and cloud environments.

  • Establish and monitor performance metrics, service-level agreements (SLAs), and key performance indicators (KPIs) for network reliability and efficiency.

  • Drive vendor management, procurement, and contract negotiations for network-related hardware, software, and services.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends in voice and data networking to ensure Walgreens remains at the forefront of innovation.

  • Oversee disaster recovery and business continuity planning for critical network services.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to executive leadership on networking infrastructure, capacity planning, and risk mitigation strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.

  • Proven expertise in designing and managing large-scale enterprise voice and data networks.

  • Strong knowledge of network architecture, routing, switching, firewalls, VoIP, SD-WAN, cloud networking, and network security best practices.

  • Excellent leadership, project management, and team-building skills.

  • Experience in vendor management, budget planning, and cost optimization for network operations.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10–12 years of progressive experience in enterprise networking, with at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role.

  • Hands-on experience in large-scale corporate network operations, including voice, data, cloud, and hybrid networking environments.

  • Demonstrated success in implementing network transformation projects and leading cross-functional IT initiatives.

Working Hours:

  • Standard corporate hours (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM).

  • Flexibility required to accommodate critical network incidents, project deadlines, and virtual meetings across time zones.
