Responsible for the coordination of workload, completing work of a similar nature, inventory, materials management, training, supervision of staff, coordination of outside contractors, project management and response to customer service needs. This is a working/supervisory position.<br><br><b>What you will do</b><ul><li>Supervises Electrical assigned staff. Manages and performs maintenance activities.</li> <li> Maintains competency testing evaluation records, oversees performance, and documentation.</li> <li> Monitors performance of staff daily for excellent quality and productivity.</li> <li> Coordinates staff schedules.</li> <li> Performs quarterly/semiannual performance management plans with employees, identifies and monitors duty task responsibility, goals, expected results and results achieved.</li> <li> Investigates/corrects, and disciplines situations of poor performance.</li> <li> Inspects work daily for conformance with trade standards, project specifications and building codes.</li> <li> Takes immediate steps to correct deficiencies.</li> <li> Applies CHOP Policies and Procedures fairly and effectively.</li> <li> Inspects facilities continuously; notes maintenance problems; initiates solutions.</li> <li> Regularly checks staff for adherence to arrival, break and departure time.</li> <li> Continuously monitors staff attendance, PPL usage and trends.</li> <li>Performs work of a similar nature as required.</li> <li> Demonstrates through own performance, standards of excellence for trade.</li> <li> Balances time spent working against supervisory responsibilities.</li> <li> Schedule and perform regulatory, Preventative and corrective maintenance activities for all assigned locations.</li> <li>Assigns work daily.</li> <li> Clearly communicates project objectives to staff and customers.</li> <li> Effectively integrates P.M.'s in workload to prevent backlog.</li> <li> Distributes workload fairly matching skill with ability.</li> <li> Monitors progress daily and logs time and materials required to complete work.</li> <li> Investigates delays; independently takes appropriate action to resolve problems. Refers unusual or difficult problems to supervisor.</li> <li>Maintains effective coordination of activities within the group and with other trades as required.</li> <li> Assesses/plans workload weekly.</li> <li> Meets with supervisors bi-weekly.</li> <li> Meets with customers; assesses needs; clearly communicates project scope and resolution of problems.</li> <li>Communicates with staff to disseminate information, discuss issues and seek staff feedback.</li> <li> Participates in regular staff meetings monthly.</li> <li> Fosters atmosphere of teamwork in group.</li> <li>When the Electrical Supervisor is not available this position will fill the position of the supervisor. Ensures adequate levels of supplies, materials and tools within group.</li> <li>Assists in monitoring expenditures against budget.</li> <li> Reviews expenditures and budget with supervisor monthly.</li> <li>Manage maintenance projects ranging in size and scope to meet CHOP objectives.</li> <li> Ensures that projects are completed on or ahead of schedule.</li> <li> Ensures that projects are completed on or under budget.</li> <li> Manages vendors, contractors and in-house staff on the project.</li> <li> Ensures that projects meet or exceed established quality, and balance user needs against overall project objectives.</li> <li> Provide effective and timely project communications between all parties on a regular basis.</li> <li> Coordinate and perform utility interruptions to limit the impact with users, Hospital operations and staff.</li></ul><b>Education Qualifications</b><ul><li>High School Diploma / GED Required </li> <li>Technical Diploma Electrical Maintenance or similar skill trade with building maintenance Required </li></ul><b>Experience Qualifications</b><ul><li>At least five (5) years working experience in institutional or industrial electrical maintenance Required </li> <li>At least three (3) years experience supervising, coaching, and training electrical maintenance staff. Required </li></ul><b>Skills and Abilities</b><ul><li>Experience in working within an Electrical maintenance environment, High 15KVA, Medium 480, through 120 volt and low voltage equipment. </li> <li>Ability to read prints, sketches, wiring diagrams, ladder diagrams, schematic drawings. </li> <li>Experience in the use of all industrial hand and power tools. </li> <li>Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and customer oriented. </li> <li>Excellent problem solving and decision making skills. </li> <li>Excellent leadership abilities and project management skills. </li> <li>Experience trouble shooting mechanical equipment and devices. </li> <li>Excellent communication/interpersonal skills verbal and written. </li> <li>Ability to track inventory and materials management computer literacy. </li> <li>Must have the ability to climb, work in close quarters, lift heavy objects, and work outside in extreme weather conditions. </li> <li>Must be flexible enough to work different hours, and shifts, to insure to meet the needs of our customer and maintenance needs. </li> <li>Basic knowledge of NEC National Electrical Code, and NFPA 70, 70E, and NFPA 99. </li></ul><b>Licenses and Certifications</b><ul><li>Driver's License - Department of Motor Vehicles - upon hire - Required and</li> <li>Master Electrician - Philadelphia Licenses & Inspections - upon hire - Required </li></ul><br><b>To carry out its mission, CHOP is committed to supporting the health of our patients, families, workforce, and global community.
