Overview Provides strategy for ensuring that emergency response processes are adequately instituted throughout the PPL Electric Utilities organization. Ensures that training material is developed and delivered to emergency responders. Develops and maintains the Storm Management SharePoint website including versioning control of all storm Manual documents to ensure that all storm related documents are reviewed and updated in a timely manner. Performs a variety of complex activities in support of EU's emergency management and preparedness functions with minimal supervision. The incumbent works as an individual contributor with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decisions and may lead functional teams or projects. Individuals in this position also provide technical guidance and direction to other PPL employees in support of producing high quality, timely and cost-effective solutions to ensure PPL Electric Utilities' emergency preparedness. Responsibilities • Develops, updates, and maintains training aids, job aids, checklists, roles and responsibilities documents, and other related reference documentation for the EU Emergency Response Organization (ERO) roles as they relate to the management of both weather-related and non-weather-related events. • Develops and executes change management plans for modifications in process, roles, systems, and tools, including drill exercise programs (orientation, tabletop exercises, functional exercises, etc.). • Maintains the EU Emergency Response SharePoint web site for use by all involved with emergency management. Ensures that the site is user friendly, useful, and properly maintained. • Monitors and maintains the various software systems and applications used in the emergency response process (i.e.: outage prediction model, resource management database, smart device apps, etc.) • Maintains document control for all emergency response documents by monitoring the version control process. • Supports the Manager - Emergency Preparedness in the performance of the position duties. • Facilitates Event Critiques and ensures action items are assigned and monitored for completion. • Continuously improves emergency response processes within PPL EU through benchmarking and review of industry best practices. • Primarily works independently, with guidance on only the most complex tasks. • Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions and makes use of knowledge of industry best practices related to emergency planning. • All positions in which driving is an essential function of the job, regardless if the job code is marked safety sensitive or not, will also be included as safety sensitive. • May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service.
