Roles & Responsibilities

At WRITERS AT WORK, teachers foster language proficiency and literary appreciation, guiding students in mastering the nuances of the English Language and writing.

Job responsibilities:

  • Plan lessons for assigned classes in accordance with the Company’s curriculum pedagogy and framework.
  • Deliver all planned lessons according to the Company's guidelines, curriculum pedagogy and framework to achieve desired learning outcomes.
  • Mark and grade students' scripts in accordance with the Company's guidelines and in-house rubrics.
  • Ensure marked scripts are returned in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and cater to students' educational needs in a timely manner.
  • Collect and analyse students’ school weighted assessments and examinations results.
  • Provide timely feedback to parents and address their concerns appropriately.
  • Be actively involved in the planning and preparation of curriculum and innovation of teaching methodology.
  • Teach up to 12 classes of various levels (Primary 1 - Secondary 4)
  • Responsible for growing and/or maintaining the headcount of students in the classes under your charge.

Qualifications:

  • NIE trained teachers or teachers with at least 1 year of relevant teaching experience in established enrichment centres.
  • Familiar with the latest MOE syllabus and examination requirements
  • Possess at least a Diploma in Education/Teaching or Bachelor’s Degree (any field).
  • Prior experience in teaching English creative writing is an advantage.
  • Entry-Level candidates with a good relevant degree will be considered. Training will be provided.

Language abilities:

  • Strong command of English Language (written and spoken)

Computer literacy skills:

  • Google Drive
  • Zoom
  • MS Office

W@W Teachers Training Programme

Successful candidates will undergo an intensive 3-month teachers training programme where you will have training sessions with our master trainers and have opportunities to conduct live lessons.

The W@W Teachers Training Programme will cover:

  • Language Enhancement Training and Assessment
  • W@W Classroom Experience & Management Techniques
  • W@W Curriculum Mastery Studies and Assessment
  • W@W Composition and Essay Grading System
  • Clients’ Management Training and Practicum

During the training, all trainee teachers will be trained to teach the W@W Curriculum at the primary and secondary levels. Professionally, dual level teacher training will help trainee teachers understand students’ growth and language development across the schooling years, and their implications on teaching and learning. In the training interim, trainee teachers could be assigned classes and lessons to teach, subjected to organisational requirements.

Important Job Details

  • Working Week: 4 weekdays + 1 weekend
  • Working hours during week days: 10.20 am to 7.20 pm
  • Working hours during weekends: 8.45 am to 6.30 pm
  • Salary range: $3,000.00 - $4,200.00 per month

  • Location: Teachers can be deployed to teach at 3 different branches each week.
