What you will do: • Grow in a fulfilling career as an Airport Security Screener at the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) working alongside a team of aviation security professionals. • You will use your outstanding customer service and critical-thinking skills while ensuring passenger safety by identifying dangerous objects in baggage, cargo, and/ or on the passengers themselves, and preventing those objects from being transported aboard the aircraft. Responsibilities and skills specific to this role include, but are not limited to: • Passenger and Baggage screening using various electronic imaging and screening equipment • Perform critical safety tasks such as conducting pat-down searches, operating x-ray machines and hand-held wands • Courteously communicate and interact with travelers, providing directions and responding to inquiries calmly. • Lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds or assisting others in lifting • Ability to stand and remain standing for periods of up to three hours • Possess proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) • Ability to successfully complete required classroom and on-the-job training and certification exams Work Schedule: • Ability to work any day, Monday - Sunday, and any shift between 12:00 AM and 11:59 PM What you will need: • Be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National • Be at least 18 years of age • Have a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) • Pass a computerized assessment (pattern recognition and 2D/3D spatial reasoning) • Pass and maintain required medical evaluations, including vision, hearing, and joint mobility • Pass pre-employment drug screening and remain compliant throughout employment. • Must meet eligibility requirements for a TSA Public Trust, including successful completion of post-offer background, criminal, and financial checks. • Minimum Clearance to Start: Public Trust What we offer: Competitive Compensation • Hourly Wage: $19.46 per hour with a total compensation of $27.17 to include wages, benefits and a retirement plan.
