Minimum qualifications:

  • Become part of a team that is already in place. We are specifically seeking established teams, and both individuals belonging to the team must put forward applications for this position
  • Qualified to collaborate with another driver in a sleeper semi-truck for extended journeys
  • - You need to be at least 21 years old
  • Hold a valid commercial driver's license of Class A
  • Possess a grasp of vehicle safety and control mechanisms
  • A driving history devoid of accidents or traffic violations, indicating a commitment to safe driving
  • Maintain a valid DOT Medical Certification Card or undergo a fully covered DOT physical examination sponsored by the employer
  • Willing to be mobile for work duties over the course of a standard workweek
  • Endorsed for the transport of dangerous goods, tankers, and multiple trailers

Preferred qualifications:

  • Driving as a team or having over-the-road experience means that multiple drivers work together to cover extensive distances and share the responsibilities of operating a vehicle
  • Effective coordination with dispatchers and team members relies on strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled in functioning both autonomously and collectively within a team dynamic, displaying significant teamwork and collaboration

Roles:

  • Carry out runs transporting goods between XPO sites for both pick up and drop off and cooperate with colleagues from XPO in the process
  • Maneuver through different routes, prioritize the safety of Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs), and adhere to transportation regulations
  • Maneuver multiple tractor-trailer combinations over long distances throughout a typical workweek that involves being away from home
  • Follow the guidelines set by the Department of Transportation while operating the vehicle
  • Utilize all in-house equipment and mandatory systems for handling freight transportation tasks

Requirements:

  • Raise and transport objects with diverse forms, measurements, and heaviness (typically up to 50 lbs. and sometimes over 75 lbs.)
  • Safely embark and disembark from tractor cab/trailer
  • Remain seated for prolonged periods in a truck cab
  • Stretch (even beyond your head), incline, scale, propel, drag, rotate, crouch down, and assume a kneeling position
  • Conduct operations of a tractor-trailer combination for up to 11 hours continuously, in diverse weather conditions, while securely transporting a variety of freight
  • Efficiently use a mobile device
