We are looking to hire 4 experienced Legal Court Reporter/Transcription with a focus on delivering high-quality, accurate, and timely transcriptions for a legal entity. We are seeking experienced Legal Transcribers to join our team on a contract basis to support our growing needs.

 

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Legal Court Reporter/Transcription Specialist to join our team and provide remote court reporting and transcription services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transcribing and producing certified transcripts from audio and video recordings, as well as attending live proceedings remotely to perform court reporting services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transcription & Reporting: Transcribe and produce certified transcripts from audio or video recordings. Attend live proceedings remotely as directed to provide real-time court reporting and transcription services.
  • CAT Proficiency: Utilize Computer Aided Transcription (CAT) tools for accurate transcription. Subcontract to licensed court reporters proficient in CAT, when required.
  • File Delivery: Provide electronic, searchable PDF transcripts to the PUC via email, secure web portal, or NH State File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), as directed.
  • Confidential Transcripts: Produce both confidential and redacted transcripts when necessary, ensuring adherence to privacy requirements.
  • Proofreading: Ensure transcripts are error-free, with accurate spelling of names and terminology.
  • Format Compliance: Transcribe hearings according to established formats and ensure legal accuracy.
  • Stenographic Equipment: Operate computerized stenographic captioning equipment for live or prerecorded broadcasts, when required.
  • Certification: Certify each final transcript as a true and accurate record of the proceedings or recording.
  • Hearing Support: Attend hearings remotely, administer oaths, and swear in witnesses per New Hampshire law. Manage cross-speaking, clarify inaudible or unclear speech, and respond to requests to reread portions of testimony.
  • Hearing Log: Take detailed hearing log notes, utilize verbatim methods and appropriate equipment to capture, store, and transcribe all proceedings.
