As a key member of our store team, you'll play a vital role in delivering a highly satisfied customer experience, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and supporting the growth of your career. Job Summary and Key Responsibilities In this exciting and challenging role, you'll be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including: Delivering a highly satisfied customer experience through engaging and interacting with all customers, embodying customer experience principles and philosophy, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment Role modeling established customer experience practices with internal and external customers, supporting and embodying a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect Accurately ringing customer purchases/returns and counting change back to customers according to established operating procedures Promoting credit and loyalty programs during customer interactions, maintaining and upholding merchandising philosophy, and following established merchandising procedures and standards Accurately processing and preparing merchandise for the sales floor following company procedures and standards, initiating and participating in store recovery as needed throughout the day Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and participating in the maintenance/cleanliness of the entire store Providing and accepting ongoing recognition and constructive feedback, adhering to all labor laws, policies, and procedures, and supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you'll need: Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to engage and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner A flexible schedule to support business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, capable of balancing multiple tasks at one time and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors to accomplish tasks The ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation, and a retail customer experience is preferred Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are preferred: Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing environment, with a strong understanding of customer service principles and practices Experience with merchandising and inventory management, with the ability to maintain a clean and organized store environment Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At HomeGoods, we're committed to the growth and development of our associates.
