Finance Analyst – Join Our Team

Introduction

We’re looking for a proactive and analytical Finance Analyst to play a key role in supporting the Tarmac UK Cement businesses. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with Finance, Commercial and Operational teams, providing the insight that strengthens governance, improves profitability and supports strategic decision‑making across a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.

About the Role

As a Finance Analyst, you’ll be responsible for delivering high‑quality commercial insight, robust financial controls and effective end‑to‑end management of customer rebates and debtor processes. Your work will directly influence commercial decision‑making, pricing governance, forecasting accuracy and overall financial performance across the Cement business.

What You’ll Be Doing

Commercial Analysis & Insight

Reporting and analysing volumes, price and margin to drive commercial decisions and financial planning

Partnering with Senior Commercial Managers and Key Account Managers to deepen commercial understanding, challenge assumptions and provide scenario modelling

Analysing customer, market and performance trends using tools such as SAP Business Warehouse to identify risks and opportunities

Supporting pricing governance through maintaining pricing schedules, validating changes and contributing to pricing initiatives

Leading customer and cement plant profitability reviews and presenting your findings to senior stakeholdersRebate Management & Financial Controls

Owning the complete customer rebate process—from system set‑up and accruals to reporting, payment and stakeholder engagement

Ensuring full compliance with internal controls, especially in revenue accounting and pricing governance

Managing the month‑end process for sales and rebates, including accrual preparation and pricing checks

Maintaining best‑practice documentation for audit and continuous improvementDebtor Management & Collections Support

Acting as a business partner to the Collections shared service team to ensure effective collections and reporting

Providing insight into debt performance and supporting actions to improve cash collectionReporting, Forecasting & Cross‑Functional Support

Delivering high‑quality reporting and analysis across volumes, revenue and pricing

Using data‑querying tools to analyse performance trends that inform forecasting and long‑term financial planning

Preparing month‑end reporting packs with meaningful commentary for senior stakeholders

Supporting the commercial forecasting cycle and helping validate assumptions to enhance accuracy

Driving continuous improvements in reporting, data quality and system utilisationWhat the Ideal Candidate Looks Like

We’re seeking someone who is a motivated self‑starter, able to operate confidently in a complex and fast‑moving business environment. You’ll need strong analytical capability, financial modelling expertise and the confidence to influence and engage with stakeholders at all levels.

You’ll bring:

A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience

Strong financial analysis skills

The ability to understand and map end‑to‑end financial and system processes

Proven problem‑solving skills and a track record of driving process improvements

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial topics

Strong proficiency with data‑querying/management tools and financial ERP systemsDesirable experience:

Managing customer rebate processes

Experience within the building products industry

Background in a large, complex or matrix organisation

Familiarity with SAP/Business Warehouse
