Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$46.110 - $59.500 - $66.650

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do
To participate in providing ongoing maintenance, implementation, modification, and enhancement of the decision support system at Sharp HealthCare including the cost accounting and budget modules. To support existing and new customer base, by providing support, training, report writing/data mining, and problem resolution as needed. To prepare ad hoc financial analyses in support of the Sharp HealthCare management team.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 Year experience with analyzing financial variances.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 Years healthcare experience.
  • Cost Accounting system experience.

Other Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics/Information Technology, Finance, Accounting or Healthcare Management or equivalent finance experience in a healthcare environment. - Required

Essential Functions

  • Cost accounting
    Participate in the RVU development and cost dissemination for all cost components.
    Support the design, development, and maintenance of an automated, timely, and accurate RVU load process to enable standardized cost accounting at Sharp. This includes the preservation of the direct and indirect procedure level cost factors, development of system-wide RVUs, annual review of indirect cost allocation structures, and audit for reasonable cost factors.
  • Cost effectiveness
    Demonstrates initiative, cooperation, customer focus, and teamwork toward department and system goals by:
    Meeting established deadlines and completing projects as assigned in an accurate and cost-effective manner.
    Demonstrating an advanced skill level (as well as consistent improvement in skill level) with computer-modeling in software applications.
    Prioritizing multiple assignments /overlapping deadlines and amending work schedule to assist co-workers with tasks as necessary.
    Demonstrating ability to work independently using good analytical and political judgment in dealing with a wide variety of customers.
    Maintain active relationships with customers by continuously assessing needs, preferences, and levels of satisfaction with tasks.
    Representing the Financial Decision Support department in a professional and competent manner, including a strong sense of responsibility for assigned duties.
  • Data integrity
    Maintain data integrity in the Decision Support and budget databases in both the short and long terms by:
    Completing the daily/biweekly/monthly interface reconciliations.
    Researching/correcting any data accuracy issues that surface.
    Assessing data quality impact issues resulting from internal application changes and then working with appropriate team members to identify solutions as a result of these changes; and
    Works with team members to communicate results of changes or findings to user community and Finance leadership to keep constituents apprised.
  • Data submission
    Create, modify, and perform data extracts on an as needed basis, using advanced technical skills as required and adhering to submission schedules required by senior management.
    Use senior analytic expertise in planning and validating results of extracts to incorporate clients' current and future needs. 1) Data submission schedules are met in a timely manner; 2) Results are validated before final submission to client; and 3) Data extracts are efficiently built and/or modified to provide high quality analytics for clients.
  • Financial analysis
    Provide analyses for corporate level projects in a concise, relevant, accurate, timely, and independent manner, with necessary department reviews, as requested by customer base, including senior management.
    Demonstrate dedication to continuous improvement of senior analytic skills through independent preparation, logical analysis, and carefully crafted presentations to produce output for intended audience.
    Demonstrate expertise and independence in the use of System, GE Monarch, and Excel.
  • Training
    Coordinate and support training, report writing, and problem resolution across system for new and existing users.
    Mentor user base to improve analytic interpretation of data when exported to other applications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent financial analysis, organizational, communication (both written and oral), and customer service/interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills must include experience with spreadsheet and data manipulation software, such as Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Solid understanding or experience with decision support systems, cost accounting principles, and accounting systems required.
  • Knowledge of the Decision Support system is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work with multiple and changing priorities.
