This is a temporary position. 

The Senior Program Specialist, Global Brand Standards is part of the Global Lodging Product Standards team, which is the team that manages and governs all of Marriott International’s standards (brand, operations, non-operations and design). This position provides project and administrative support to the Global Lodging Product Standards team, supporting all segments globally (Midscale, Select, Premium, Endorsed and Luxury). Project support includes project status tracking, sustainment of standards, creating and updating basic PowerPoint presentations, light research, internal communications including updating MGS and SharePoint pages and responding to questions. Administrative support to the team includes accounts payable processing, , scheduling, meeting preparations, travel and other administrative activities. Successful candidates should possess relevant knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong organizational and relationship skills. 

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE  

 

Education and Experience Required 

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major 
  • 2 years’ experience as a program specialist or related professional area. 
  • Strong project management and organization skills  
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results, effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. 
  • Professional demeanor, capable of expressing confident, independent judgment. 

 

 

Education and Experience Preferred 

  • 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Business Administration, Communications, or related major from an accredited university or equivalent work experience as a program specialist or related professional area. 
  • Hospitality Brand Experience 

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES  

 

 

Project Support 

  • Develops and follows procedures, is detail?oriented, maximizes resources, meets deadlines, and follows through on assignments. 
  • Tracks status of key projects including milestones and deliverables. 
  • Creates and updates basic PowerPoint presentations for communication of programs and updates. 
  • Manages updates to Marriott Systems such as MGS and SharePoint sites. 
  • Supports team with project work as needed 

Program Administration 

  • Answers questions and provides standard information pertaining to programs being administered, routine details, and other frequently asked questions. 
  • Explains the administrative procedures surrounding the program(s) and researches and responds to all questions regarding the program(s) including infrequently asked questions or nonrecurring issues. 
  • Provides technical interpretation of the program/plan documents. 
  • Independently performs research and analysis needed to address any questions or issues and presents information to a group. 
  • Composes correspondence or documents pertaining to the program(s) being administered including unique information pertaining to a specific situation or exception. 
  • Processes data related to the administration of the programs through an automated system. Reconciles accounts, researches discrepancies in the amounts charged to the accounts, and prepares reports related to the programs being administered. 
  • Researches questions and problems regarding department policies, procedures, information or services, including those of a complex nature. 
  • Develops and maintains a tracking or reporting system pertaining to the programs being administered utilizing spreadsheet, database or other software applications. 
  • Submits invoices and supports budget activities. 
  • Schedules meetings including booking meeting rooms, organizing catering (if needed), and ensuring agenda and pre-reads are delivered to attendees. 
  • Coordinates travel needs such as visas, flights, and expense reports (occasionally). 
  • Maintains assets and supplies up to date.
