The company is committed to safety, reliability, environmental leadership, and customer service. ## Key Responsibilities - Perform installation, operation, and maintenance of underground and aerial cable systems. - Respond to emergency situations and participate in emergency restoration assignments, including extended hours, weekends, and on-call duty. - Load, unload, install, maintain, and repair cable system equipment and related hardware. - Operate trucks and light construction and maintenance equipment; climb or use authorized equipment to access work areas at various heights. - Follow safety procedures, interpret situations on-site, and work under deadlines with frequent interruptions. ## Required Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent. - Successful completion of a progression program for Cable Splicers and designation as a Fully Qualified Splicer. - Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and qualification or ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). - Must live within 60 minutes of the reporting location for trouble call assignments. - Successful completion of the EEI Construction and Skilled Trades (CAST) Test, an agility assessment, and a knowledge-based exam; a behavioral-based interview is required following CAST. - Ability to work extended hours, weekends, emergency responses, and on-call assignments. - Physical requirements including the ability to sit for 2-3 hours (driving a truck or working in manholes/vaults), frequently move to unload equipment, lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds, frequently bend/stoop/squat, climb, and differentiate between colors. Manual dexterity to operate small hand tools is required. - Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, read and interpret documents, analyze and solve problems, and learn and apply new information or skills. ## Preferred Qualifications - Bargaining unit employees under the TEAL contract will be given first consideration. - Familiarity with the principles of electric theory as applied to electrical circuits and wire systems, and experience with line construction and maintenance methods and light construction equipment is a plus. ## Compensation & Benefits - Salary starts at $51.29 per hour and progresses in accordance with the union contract. - Competitive benefits package; candidates are directed to the company career site for an overview of benefits. ## Additional Information - This is a regular, full-time position with two openings. - Qualified candidates must submit a resume with the application. - Eversource Energy is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer; all qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to protected characteristics. - Emergency restoration assignments may require work outside normal responsibilities, hours, and location.
