Senior Product Manager, Fusion Platform Organization

Location: United States (Portland, OR; Denver, CO; Boston, MA – hybrid or flexible, additional locations may be added)

Overview

Autodesk is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join the PDMS Platform Organization, where we build the foundational platform and application frameworks that power Autodesk’s product ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of platform strategy and execution, enabling Autodesk product teams to build scalable, high-quality, and consistent product experiences across industries.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will own a major area of the PDMS platform and product application frameworks, shaping multi-year strategy while driving near- and mid-term delivery. You will work closely with platform engineering, architecture, and downstream product teams to ensure the platform evolves to serve real product needs—balancing technical constraints, business priorities, and customer outcomes.

This role requires strong cross-functional leadership, comfort operating at executive levels, and a pragmatic mindset focused on enabling delivery at scale.

Responsibilities:

Platform Strategy & Ownership

  • Own a major area of the PDMS platform and product application frameworks, with clear accountability for outcomes, adoption, and impact.
  • Define and maintain a multi-year product strategy and roadmap aligned with Autodesk’s broader platform and business objectives.
  • Translate long-term strategy into actionable plans that balance platform evolution with immediate delivery needs.
  • Clearly articulate the value proposition, boundaries, and intended usage of platform capabilities for internal and external stakeholders.

Delivery Enablement

  • Partner closely with engineering to ensure platform capabilities are designed, prioritized, and delivered in a way that enables downstream product teams to move faster and with higher quality.
  • Work with internal product teams to understand real-world use cases, constraints, and integration needs, and reflect those insights in platform decisions.
  • Drive alignment across teams to reduce fragmentation, duplication, and friction in application development.
  • Monitor platform adoption and usage, using data and feedback to guide iteration and investment.

Cross-Functional & Executive Collaboration

  • Collaborate with platform engineering, architecture, developer experience, research, and downstream product teams across Autodesk.
  • Lead cross-organization alignment on platform priorities, tradeoffs, and sequencing.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, compelling executive-level communication, including strategy presentations, roadmap reviews, and decision proposals.
  • Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders by framing complex platform topics in business and customer terms.

Customer & Ecosystem Perspective

  • Balance the needs of internal Autodesk product teams with those of external developers and partners, where applicable.
  • Advocate for platform consistency, scalability, and extensibility across a large and diverse product ecosystem.
  • Incorporate industry context (e.g., CAD/CAM/MFG workflows) into platform decision-making where it adds value.

Qualifications Required

  • 5 + years of product management experience, with experience owning platforms, frameworks, or shared servicesin a large-scale product ecosystem.
  • Proven ability to define and execute multi-year product strategies while delivering incremental value.
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams on technically complex products, with moderate technical depth (able to reason about APIs, architectures, and tradeoffs without being hands-on).
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills, including influencing without authority.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating with and presenting to executive audiences.
  • Track record of enabling other teams to deliver successfully through platform investments.

Preferred

  • Experience with large-scale product ecosystems supporting multiple products or lines of business.
  • Familiarity with CAD, CAM, or Manufacturing domains.
  • Experience building or evolving internal developer platforms, application frameworks, or shared infrastructure.

What Success Looks Like

  • Product teams across Autodesk adopt and rely on the PDMS platform to deliver faster, with fewer workarounds.
  • Platform strategy is clearly understood, aligned, and supported by engineering and leadership.
  • The platform roadmap balances long-term architectural health with near-term delivery needs.
  • Executives trust you to frame platform decisions clearly and guide tradeoffs effectively.
