About the role

We are looking for an experienced merchandising and brand leader for the Duolingo store. The role will build our merchandising efforts into a core part of our iconic brand. If you have a pulse on culture, a keen eye for developing fun, quirky products, and have experience building a merch store for a consumer brand -- please apply! As a core member of our marketing organization, the ideal candidate will be self-motivated, balance a strong sense of creative with the practicalities of managing a P&L, and have experience working in a fast-moving, highly cross-functional environment.

You will...

  • Own the success of the Duolingo Store (store.duolingo.com) and build it into a channel that contributes to Duolingo's iconic brand
  • Grow the store and its products into an aspirational brand through creative merchandising, retail events, and gifting programs
  • Lead development, product roadmap, and release strategy of Duolingo merchandising, in partnership with Marketing, Design, Business Development, third-party vendors, and contractors
  • Ensure operational efficiency of our Merchandising operation, including managing our site performance, vendor relationships, supply chain, and P&L, in collaboration with a Store Coordinator
  • Work closely across the marketing team to integrate Duolingo merchandising into our brand campaigns

You have...

  • 5+ years in e-commerce or merchandising leadership
  • a proven track record in building a brand via e-commerce channels
  • An ability to think outside of the box when it comes to merchandising and branding
  • Experience with building a merchandising or e-commerce function from 0 to 1
  • 3+ years with demonstrated operational excellence managing a P&L and e-commerce platforms such as Shopify and Amazon Storefront

We post a multi-level salary range for all of our roles.

This is not inclusive of the rest of our awesome portfolio that includes equity compensation and world-class benefits. Our salary ranges are the same for all US locations. Your recruiter can share more details about the range for a specific level during the hiring process. The actual salary within the range is determined by many factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, education, and internal equity.

Salary Range:

$156,000—$234,000 USD
