Role Description

This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled insurance professional to play a crucial role in a growing dental practice’s digital transformation. You’ll be responsible for managing comprehensive insurance verification processes, working with modern practice management systems, and ensuring accurate patient insurance information. This role combines technical expertise with customer service excellence, requiring you to communicate effectively with insurance companies while maintaining precise data management.

  • Perform comprehensive insurance breakdowns and verification for dental patients using the Archie practice management system
  • Identify and correct existing patient insurance plan inaccuracies in the database to ensure proper coverage verification
  • Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility for both new and existing patients
  • Communicate professionally with insurance companies through multiple channels including phone, fax, email, and online portals
  • Input accurate insurance information for new patients, including carrier details, payer IDs, and plan specifics
  • Handle complex insurance-related inquiries and follow up on verification requests to ensure timely resolution
  • Ensure insurance carrier information and payer IDs accurately match patient coverage details
  • Collaborate with practice management to streamline insurance processes and improve operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • Healthcare, medical, or dental background with understanding of industry terminology is a must
  • Knowledge of dental procedure codes and terminology (such as scaling procedures and related codes)
  • Proven experience with insurance verification, breakdown processes, and benefits coordination
  • Excellent communication skills for professional interactions with insurance representatives and practice staff
  • Customer service experience with demonstrated ability to handle phone communications professionally
  • Experience with practice management systems (Archie system experience highly valued)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while managing multiple verification tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a growing practice environment and contribute to process improvements
