Role Description

The purpose of the Records Retrieval Agent 3 is to represent the clientele of Cotiviti in requesting and obtaining medical records from healthcare providers and, as required, process requests that require a higher level of expertise; while maintaining adequate production and quality levels through tracked metrics.

  • Contact provider offices to request copies of medical records, focusing on tier three work allocations (locations retaining 51+ records, requests aging 22 + days).
  • Work with specialty skill teams to provide operational support to the department, copy services, coordinate Onsite and EMR retrieval activities, agent support, etc., as directed.
  • Identify and coordinate the method for record retrieval with provider offices, and, when needed, perform general troubleshooting of requests for account managers, clients, and facilities supporting EMR retrieval.
  • Maintain professional and frequent contact with provider offices throughout the record retrieval process.
  • Provide accurate and timely updates on the record retrieval status to Cotiviti clients, including the possibility of generating aging reports and performing audits to ensure competitive and timely service.
  • Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan.
  • Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated mastery of Cotiviti record retrieval process in Agent 2 role, as well as mastery of workflow and proprietary systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly through verbal and written communication, using proper spelling and grammar.
  • Demonstrated ability to give close attention to details, including planning, executing, and follow up procedures.
  • Must be able to work well in a collaborative team environment and be willing to provide essential overlap and coverage in other areas of the agent hierarchy that feeds to this role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations.

  • Base compensation is $17.20/hr. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
  • Nonexempt employees are eligible to receive overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a given week, or as otherwise required by applicable state law.
