Job Title: Architect, Ecommerce Technology - Mobile App

Department: Information Technology

Reports To: Senior Manager, Ecommerce Technology

Location: Remote

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Architect, Ecommerce Technology - Mobile App is responsible for the technical leadership, architectural oversight, and solution quality of Trulieve’s iOS and Android mobile applications. This role owns the end-to-end mobile technical architecture, ensuring ecommerce features are correctly implemented, integrations with Adobe Commerce are sound, and Firebase services are used effectively to support performance, reliability, and scalability. The Architect partners closely with Product, Ecommerce Platform, UX, QA, and external development teams to ensure mobile solutions are well designed, safely deployed, and reliable in production.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the technical architecture for Trulieve’s iOS and Android ecommerce mobile applications, ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and architectural guidance for mobile development teams, ensuring consistent implementation of ecommerce features and platform integrations
  • Define and enforce mobile architecture standards, patterns, and best practices aligned with headless commerce and enterprise platform strategy
  • Lead the design and integration of mobile applications with Adobe Commerce using headless APIs and modern frontend architecture patterns
  • Own the correct and effective use of Firebase services, including analytics, crash reporting, messaging, and performance monitoring
  • Act as the primary technical decision-maker for mobile architecture, guiding trade-offs related to performance, user experience, reliability, security, and maintainability
  • Ensure mobile solutions align with business requirements, regulatory considerations, and ecommerce operational needs
  • Partner with Product and UX teams to translate functional requirements into technically sound mobile implementations
  • Collaborate with QA and DevOps to improve release quality, testing strategies, deployment safety, and production readiness
  • Work closely with external development partners to ensure architectural alignment, code quality, and adherence to platform standards
  • Identify and proactively address technical risks, architectural gaps, and quality concerns throughout the development lifecycle
  • Support production operations through architectural oversight, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of mobile platform stability

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong experience in mobile application architecture and development for both iOS and Android platforms
  • Deep understanding of modern ecommerce architectures, including headless commerce, API-driven frontend development, and mobile-first design patterns
  • Proven experience integrating mobile applications with ecommerce platforms, including product catalog, search, cart, checkout, and account functionality
  • Strong architectural judgment with the ability to evaluate trade-offs across performance, reliability, security, and long-term maintainability
  • Experience providing architectural leadership across internal teams and external development partners
  • Solid understanding of mobile application lifecycle management, release processes, and production support considerations
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex technical challenges and drive clear architectural decisions
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Typically 8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant focus on mobile application development and architecture

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Firebase services including Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, Performance Monitoring, and Remote Config
  • Experience working in headless ecommerce environments integrating mobile applications with Adobe Commerce or similar platforms
  • Experience supporting high-traffic, consumer-facing mobile applications in regulated or highly available environments
  • Familiarity with mobile security best practices, performance optimization, and observability 
  • Experience working in multi-team, enterprise-scale ecommerce ecosystems
