About the position

FabFitFun is looking for a Home & Fashion Buyer to join our Merchandising team! This role will be an integral part of our buying team, as they build and maintain brand partnerships to drive growth across our seasonal subscription box and corresponding e-Commerce flash sales. This person will be at the cutting edge of the latest Women’s lifestyle trends, products, and brands with a proven track record of negotiating and finalizing complex deals. Location: This role is based out of our HQ in Beverly Hills, CA and is not eligible for remote. We are presently operating from a hybrid schedule of 4 days a week in-office (Monday-Thursday).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage tier 1 & 2 home and fashion brand partnerships, bringing in new product categories for subscription box, driving both quality and value to members
  • Buy products according to line plan, ensuring you meet financial goals for Ecomm (margin, SKU productivity, revenue) and Box (cost benchmarks, Q score/Awareness targets) while maintaining a well balanced assortment
  • Develop and execute balanced assortments that serve members and business in a strategic, focused way
  • Drives insights by partnering with relevant teams and uses data to influence category wide strategies to support divisional initiatives
  • Execution of deals by working cross-functionally with the operations, legal, marketing, production, planning, and merch strategy teams
  • Conduct competitive marketplace analysis to assess and create business opportunities. Attend market and/or trade shows seasonally
  • Review hindsight business analysis after corresponding sales/Box seasons to ensure learnings & new opportunities are clear and actionable for team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business, Communications or a related field
  • 4+ years beauty buying/merchandising experience in traditional retail environment (Subscription or off price model preferred)
  • Experience managing 50+ active brand conversations at one time
  • Confident negotiating costs, managing an order from PO placement through transportation and on-time delivery
  • Strong rolodex with existing contacts and relationships in the home or fashion category
  • Ability to manage open to buy (OTB) and meet company financial goals
  • Adaptable to change and receptive to feedback and suggestions
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with ability to meet deadlines
  • Advanced Excel knowledge / retail math
