About the position

Reporting to the VP Brand & Communications for the US, the Industrial Automation (IA) Communications Leader for US will be responsible for owning and delivering a comprehensive internal and external communications program to increase brand awareness, employee engagement, and customer understanding of Schneider Electric’s leadership in the automation industry. This role will deliver a scalable and fully-executed plan to help position Schneider Electric as a leading automation player in the region and support the NAM business goals. The mission for this role will be to change perceptions and drive storytelling within the industrial automation space, aligning to our North American narrative and brand story globally. The role will be a critical partner to the Director of Marketing for Industrial Automation in North America and will be considered an extension of the IA Marketing NAM team.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a communications strategy and plan for the Industrial Automation business, supporting clear business KPIs for 2026-2027.
  • Lead the IA brand management & narrative in NAM, ensuring consistent and differentiated positioning is permeated through all levels of the organization.
  • Develop and manage an IA NAM Thought Leadership Plan, including support for the SVP of IA in NAM and additional leaders.
  • Influence and partner with NAM Brand & Communications team to ensure there is strong editorial calendar planning, as well as growing IA’s share-of-voice internally.
  • Work closely with marketing and business leaders understand strategic objectives and relevant stakeholders of IA, and develop appropriate communication activations and materials.
  • Conduct stakeholder analysis to determine engagement and change management needs, expectations, and concerns of all audiences to ensure strong buy-in and support for IA in the region.
  • Discover, develop and activate new brand stories surrounding IA in NAM, including storytelling assets requiring strong positioning and transversal messaging.
  • Work with all business functions to identify and deliver key employee messages and programs via the appropriate communication channel.
  • Oversee public relations for IA in NAM, working with agencies and completing in-house work to grow Schneider Electric’s earned media share-of-voice against automation competitors.
  • Foster employee engagement within the organization's goals & initiatives by delivering engaging content, including communications activation tactics as well as coaching, mentoring, and training audiences as needed.
  • Serve as a change agent--ensuring organizational readiness through on-going communication, education, and best practice sharing.
  • Track progress and adjust strategies based on intelligent information gathered through inbound communication including, but not limited to employee surveys and focus group feedback sessions.
  • Provide key communication facilitation throughout the North America functions and lines of business, acting as the IA chief storyteller designed to effectively keeps all employees informed on key initiatives, programs, and events related to driving a transformational culture.
  • Align external and internal programs as well as communications campaigns to support One Team strategy across our communications channels in North America.

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in Marketing, Communications, Change Management, or similar disciplines
  • Proven experience in leading cultural transformations within complex organizational environments
  • Strong writing capabilities and proven experience with writing for employee and business audiences
  • Direct experience managing public relations for an industrial business or client, and familiarity with pitching and managing journalists and external parties.
  • Demonstrated experience in educational & awareness employee communications initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing large-scale communications programs in matrixed corporate and/or industrial environments
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to drive initiatives from concept to implementation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively across teams and departments
  • Strategic mindset with the capacity to align technology initiatives with broader business goals
  • Demonstrated ability to stay abreast of communications technology trends and best practices – experience with project management systems such as AirTable, Microsoft Project, and Generative AI content generation tools preferred.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required to drive strong cultural transformation at Schneider Electric’s hubs and facilities across North America.
  • This role is preferred to be based at a Schneider Electric Hub in a hybrid format (2-3 days a week in-office).
