Responsible for implementing, coordinating and assigning overall duties, policies, and procedures within the Ingredients area, ensuring all processes are in compliance within specifications and standards for Corn/Flour/Fried Department.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises Ingredient Mixer employees.
  • Trains new employees and monitors and evaluates their progress (includes Safety, Food Safety, etc. )
  • Maintains a positive and constructive work environment within the department as well as with other departments and promotes teamwork.
  • Ensures employees are effectively performing assigned tasks and evaluates performance at appropriate intervals.
  • Verifies all personnel are present and well suited to work.
  • Provides suggestions to improve process, procedures and department in support of company goals.
  • Properly completes all documentation and reports.
  • Works in a safe manner, observing all safety requirements. Page 2 of 4
  • Verifies GMP’s and Safety standards are maintained at all times and take action and/or follow-up when deficiencies are noted.
  • Consistently applies company rules per employee handbook and per company policies (i.e. attendance, safety, etc.) and ensures safety regulations, policies and procedures are followed.
  • Requisition all raw materials from receiving warehouse.
  • Verify raw materials requested and return to workstation.
  • Check production schedule and confirm prepared batches in stock.
  • Prepare plastic ingredient bags and follow formula chart for the formulas that will be needed. Make 5 batches at a time.
  • Refill containers, and tie batches together, place a batch card along with batch in a tray.
  • Log batch number in Batch log form of all ingredients used.
  • Restock plastic bags, clean work area after each set of batches is complete.
  • At the end of each week try to empty raw material containers in preparation of end of week inventory. Any raw materials left in containers must be weighed and log raw materials and count all batches on hand and log.
  • Keeps area clean. Perform cleaning of area assigned.
  • Follow directions from production leads and Supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Good math skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) Preferred
  • Be able to communicate effectible
  • Able to work under low supervision
