JOB OVERVIEW

This position will enthusiastically represent the Callaway and Odyssey brands and line of product to competitive Junior golfers across the country. Will require the ability to build processes, tools, communications and implementation plans to successfully execute this program.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Introduce, promote and sell the Callaway and Odyssey product lines to Junior golfers
  • Conducts and/or host VIP Performance Evaluation at HQ Performance Center or Ely Callaway Performance Center
  • Determine and provide demo requirements, identify optimum distribution strategy, size/prepare product forecasts and interface with Junior golfers
  • Execute new product launches for Junior golfers
  • Responsible for order fulfillment and/or partnering with the appropriate party to deliver what is needed
  • Manage inquiries and solve problems, such as club tracking, shipment tracking, and delivery issues on routine basis
  • Keep up to date on club, shaft and ball specs
  • Oversee repairs and reworks requests and make sure they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Manage club returns
  • Develop processes and tools to improve efficiencies of assigned program
  • Ensure all deliverables and commitments are met
  • Support social media strategy
  • Track department budget as assigned
  • Fulfills requests for various events as required
  • Other duties may be assigned
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Able to build long-standing relationships and enthusiastic brand loyalty
  • Excellent customer service skills, including ability to handle difficult customers, and build and maintain customer relationships
  • Thorough knowledge (technical and functional) of Callaway fitting tools, as well as Callaway Golf custom club fitting methods, and impact on playability of customization or alteration requests
  • Strong understanding of Callaway Golf club fitting protocol
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft programs.
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbally and written and be able to relate to all level of employees and customers.
  • Able to successfully engage in social media strategies on a daily basis
  • Able to prioritize workload, multi-task and meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Club building knowledge required
  • Able to solve problems and think creatively to suggest solutions to issues related to marketing concepts
  • Able to learn order entry / tracking systems (SAP knowledge preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Must be detail oriented and able to manage detailed project plans with accuracy
  • Must be able to read and interpret instructions, policies, procedures, program information, etc.
  • Understanding of business strategy and departmental objectives required
  • Must be a skilled golfer with a 5 handicap or less; knowledge of golf industry and competitive golf highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of golf equipment, both Callaway and competitors
  • Must have a valid driver's license
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training in marketing, communications, project management or social media, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience in either a retail or golf operation including interaction with customers preferred
  • Extensive experience in/with a highly competitive Junior golf program required (College golf team or coaching a plus)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT (if applicable)
  • Regularly required to travel
  • Regularly required to lift heavy loads (up to 70 pounds)
  • Regularly required to spend extensive time on feet
  • Occasionally required to work with tools
  • Regularly required to work outside in the elements
  • Regularly required to work in a trailer where access is by stairway only
  • Regularly required to work on uneven terrain outside on and around golf courses
  • Frequently required to work more than 8 hours in a day
