Laboratory Technician

Clinty Laboratories is expanding into the analytical services market for water, waste and renewable fuels to complement our existing services.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to develop a career in a company which encourages and rewards personal development.

The laboratory is based at 82 Dargan Road, Belfast where onsite parking is available. Travel to other sites and customers may be required.

Hours of Work:

Monday Thursday 8am 16:30pm

Friday 8am 15:30pm (39 hours)

Key tasks:

  • Preparing and analysing samples in accordance with appropriate analytical test procedures and recording results on appropriate LIMS IT system
  • Performing SQC and Round Robin analysis ensuring any failures are recorded and investigated with appropriate action taken
  • Performing laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations
  • Maintaining and operating laboratory equipment e.g. ICP, Elemental Analysers, Bomb Calorimeters, titrators, glassware etc.
  • Recording and interpreting results to present to senior colleagues
  • Keeping up to date with technical developments, especially those which save time and improve reliability
  • Following strict safety procedures and ensuring safety checks
  • Ensuring compliance to all test procedures and quality systems

Essential requirements:

  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages
  • Full Driving licence

Desirable:

  • Science Degree
  • Practical knowledge of ISO 17025
  • Experience of testing within the water industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years laboratory or similar working environment


Salary: £25- £30k DOE
