The Marketing Operations Analyst position is part of the Global Network Services (GNS) business within the Global Merchant & Network Services business group. The GNS business drives scale and relevance for the enterprise by bringing on and managing financial institutions that issue and/or acquire on the American Express network. The business manages American Express’s presence in over 110 countries and territories through over 240 financial institution partners and is a driver of innovation for the company through the products and services it regularly introduces to the Network.

The GNS Product, Marketing and Global Businesses (PMGB) team is a dynamic global marketing organization with responsibility to deliver:

  • Product & Product Marketing: competitive product strategy and product & campaign delivery in GNS countries.
  • Partner & Customer Experience: infrastructure for value add and compliant experiences.
  • Brand Management: Protect and engage Amex Brand; increase Amex and GNS Brand awareness in GNS countries.
  • Global Businesses: Grow the GNS Supply Chain Solutions B2B business.

The Marketing Operations Analyst sits within the GNS Product, Marketing and Global Businesses (PMGB) team and plays a critical role in the team responsible for end-to-end management of regional marketing initiatives from planning to execution. Reporting directly to the Head of Regional Marketing, the successful candidate will work to monitor and improve our existing controls and ensure we are compliant across all our marketing initiatives regionally. This role is ideal for a collaborative individual with a process-driven mindset and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse tasks.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Adhere to, make sure their region adheres to and contribute towards strengthening PMGB’s Product & Marketing SOPs.
  • Standardize team processes to ensure consistency with other regions and efficiency.
  • Drive risk management efforts, focusing on operational risk events, issue management, and resolution. Engage with key stakeholders, including business unit partners and compliance colleagues, to facilitate effective issue management and resolution.
  • Lead control management activities including regulatory/audit queries, ensuring alignment across the PMGB leadership team and key partners.
  • Own Compliance-led initiatives, including the coordination and completion of Process Risk Self Assessments and Risk Control Self Assessments.
  • Support BU with design of controls and processes, including modifications to enhance processes/controls to improve proactive risk mitigations.
  • Facilitate Marketing & Business Development onboarding and training programs.
  • Support the decommission of Benefit partners.
  • Manage the update of a marketing and product initiatives inventory.
  • Conduct quality checks and collection evidence for marketing initiatives.
  • Manage bi-annually refresh of the Product line repository for the region.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Understanding of marketing practices, with additional knowledge of processes and best practices being advantageous.
  • Proven experience in process improvement or project management.
  • Preferable experience in operational risk management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to distil complex operational principles into clear, simple terms.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring alignment among all stakeholders on multiple projects.
