Job Description

Pay Range: $98,000 - $121,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications

As a member of the plant leadership team, you will manage the Purchasing and Receiving functional areas for the Prescott Valley manufacturing plant. You will be responsible for the inventory accuracy, inventory turns, timely receiving and flow of material to the line, safety within the receiving/handling team, and preventing stock-outs. You will also assist in tracking and reporting internal supply manufacturing costs, scrap/waste costs, and month-end financial close documents.

Responsibilities

  • Managing efficient and effective purchasing behavior, min/max analysis, inventory turns improvement, etc.
  • Inventory Cycle Counting including root cause and corrective action (BOM analysis and discrepancies, receiving and transfer errors, etc.).
  • Managing the scheduling process for the plant including managing efficient and effective use of plant resources balanced against inventory levels, collaboration with production on capacity planning, and maximizing customer on-time performance.
  • Safety training, near miss/incident root cause and corrective action, adherence to safety policies
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls across, purchasing, receiving, scheduling, and materials handling.
  • Management of distribution center team including warehouse efficiency, freight efficiency, timely receiving and shipping, control, and accuracy of inventory.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis will be required to support the requirements of location management.
  • Timely and efficient flow of material within the plant inclusive of flow analysis, coordination with manufacturing leadership, equipment/storage solutions, kanbans, etc.
  • Analyze and review purchasing, costing accuracy, and manufacturing waste.
  • Support and assist in expense budgeting for materials, supplies, and other expenses.
  • Work with strategic procurement team on ensuring plant needs on lead time and pricing are met, coordination of relationships and vendor negotiating for local suppliers.
  • Clear x-functional communication including timely highlights of material risks/shortages, working across functions on solutions for materials flow, substitutions, etc.
  • Key metrics include cycle count accuracy, receipts within 24 hours, inventory days of supply, safety incident rate, number of stock-outs.
  • Active member of location Management Team and participation in location Gemba Walks, Safety Committees and daily Operations Meetings.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field is strongly preferred. A sufficient combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
  • Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM/APICS) certification is a plus.
  • Five plus years of inventory management.
  • Three years of experience with oversight of multiple departments.
  • Expert-level Excel skills for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of Plant Scheduling, Logistics, Purchasing, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Capability to manage teams across multiple buildings.
  • Team building and talent development skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills and solid computer skills.
