About the position

PRNEWS is seeking a detail -oriented Media Assistant to support our work with news publishers across Florida. The ideal candidate has prior newsroom or newspaper experience and understands the dynamics of the Florida media landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with newspapers and media outlets across the state, primarily with advertising departments.
  • Facilitate onboarding of publishers to our digital platform for managing advertising requests.
  • Maintain and update terms, rates, and partnership details within the system.
  • Assist in the coordination and fulfillment of incoming advertising orders.
  • Track communication, follow up on pending items, and ensure smooth execution of each campaign.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and forums relevant to Florida news publishers to expand professional relationships and strengthen partnerships.

Requirements

  • Remote work or partial work from our office (hybrid format).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience working in a newsroom, newspaper editorial team, or similar media environment.
  • Solid understanding of Florida’s media market and local news ecosystem.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Comfort with digital tools, online platforms, and structured workflows.
