Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Remote NHS Call Center Agents. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and service users seeking medical advice, support, and information through the NHS system. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and empathetic handling of healthcare-related enquiries, scheduling appointments, triaging symptoms, and signposting users to appropriate services. This is a remote position, offering the flexibility to work from home while supporting one of the UKs most trusted public institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound calls from patients and service users in a professional, timely, and empathetic manner

  • Respond to general enquiries regarding NHS services, appointments, prescriptions, and healthcare information

  • Use NHS-approved systems to accurately record patient details and manage call logs

  • Assess and triage calls according to urgency, escalating complex medical queries to clinical professionals

  • Book and reschedule appointments across various NHS departments and healthcare providers

  • Follow data protection regulations and confidentiality protocols at all times

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NHS policies, service changes, and health campaigns

  • Provide support in line with KPIs and service-level agreements, including average handling time and customer satisfaction

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths

  • Excellent communication and active listening skills

  • Strong computer literacy and confidence navigating multiple systems simultaneously

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and demonstrate emotional resilience

  • Professional telephone manner and a strong focus on customer service

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Experience

  • Previous experience in a call center, customer service, or healthcare support role is highly desirable

  • Familiarity with NHS systems or prior work in the healthcare sector is an advantage

  • Experience working in a remote or virtual environment is preferred but not essential

Working Hours

  • Shifts available between 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Monday to Sunday

  • Flexible scheduling options including weekends and evenings

  • Full-time role, typically 37.5 hours per week

  • Overtime may be available during periods of high demand

  • Knowledge of NHS service pathways and patient referral processes (training will be provided)
