Job Description

As an Online Freelance Caption Checker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of captions for various media content. This is a 100% remote, flexible contract position suitable for individuals with excellent attention to detail, strong language skills, and a keen eye for linguistic nuances. You will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying captions to ensure they perfectly synchronize with audio, correctly represent spoken content, and adhere to specific style guides. This role supports Appen’s mission to provide high-quality data for AI and machine learning projects globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and edit existing captions for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Verify synchronization of captions with audio and video content.
  • Ensure adherence to client-specific guidelines and style sheets.
  • Identify and correct errors in caption segmentation and timing.
  • Provide constructive feedback on caption quality where necessary.
  • Manage workload independently to meet project deadlines.

Required Skills
