The Operations Department Generalist role is part of the Certificate Processing, Restricted Stock & Reclaims Team within the Asset Movement capability of the Operations Division. The team plays a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional client service across complex processes. You'll have an opportunity to work on complex, non-routine processes that require analytical thinking and problem-solving. The Operations Department Generalist will gain a deep understanding of multiple aspects of the financial services industry, including regulatory compliance and operational excellence. Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday. Current INTERNAL home-based associates: While this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status. Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work. Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve complex claims with precision and timeliness.
  • Provide oversight of key regulatory functions, ensuring adherence to firm and industry standards.
  • Drive process transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and improve client experience.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource, offering guidance on essential firm policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for performing multiple operations functions (i.e. processing, service, reconciliation) in the department which consists of multiple teams, and at times other departments based on a comprehensive understanding of the work.
  • Within that role, he or she must be proficient at the key functions within the department, knowing both how and why the work is performed.
  • Based on volumes, staffing variations, and overall business needs within the department, this individual will serve as a department resource for multiple teams and functions within the department.
  • Participate in and/or lead special projects, both inside and outside of the department, assist with the training of associates, serve as mentor/coach to less skilled associates, serve as workflow coordinator on occasion and identify as well as implement process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in a financial services environment (i.e. brokerage, banking, insurance, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • An advanced knowledge of systems and vendor tools, and proficiency with procedures related to these systems associated with multiple functions in a department or group of departments. Examples of specific knowledge would be in the areas of: trading, books and records, corporate actions, cash and banking related functions, anti-money laundering, client accounts, mutual funds, insurance, stocks, bonds, managed money products, retirement products and services, client reporting, tax, customer account transfers, securities processing
