Our Home is looking to grow our loyal and driven team and are currently seeking Packers to join our team of manufacturing professionals on all shifts.
The packer is primarily responsible for packaging the finished product for delivery to customers.
Our packer's typical schedule is:
* 1st Shift 7:00 A - 3:30 P M-F
* 2nd Shift 3:00P-11:30 P M-F
* 3rd Shift - 11:00P-7:30A S-Th
Responsibilities
* Performs initial quality control on product including checking color, breakage, packaging seals, codes and pricing
* Constructs packing boxes from cardboard stock
* Labels individual bags, packing boxes and plastic tubs
* Places bags of products into designated packing boxes, sealing with coded tape and placing the sealed boxes on the conveyor belt
* Calls machine operator immediately if machine jams or stops
* Replaces tape in tape machines as necessary
* Weighs and packs bulk product coming off the chutes in required containers in boxes and puts boxes on the conveyor belt
* Sweeps and cleans packaging area during and after the shift
* Uses a pallet jack, brings pallets of packaging supplies from storage area to packing area
* Assists co-workers when necessary
* Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position
* Works with management and fellow associates to ensure Food Safety programs are followed
* Reports food, office or operational safety problems to a supervisor or manager for initiating action
* Performs other duties as assigned that will impact and support the overall outcome of the company and department objectives
Requirements
* Able to read, write, speak and understand sufficient English to communicate with supervisors and co-workers
* Able to make changes quickly and accurately
* Be available and dependable for occasional overtime and Saturday work
* Able to lift at least 25 pounds
* Able to stand, walk, bend, reach and lift while on duty
