Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents with dignity and respect
  • Support nursing administration with accurate documentation and clear shift reports
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living including mobility, bathing and meals
  • Monitor resident condition and promptly communicate changes to the nursing team
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans
  • Model and promote safe infection control and safety practices every day
  • Help orient and mentor newer staff to build a confident, capable team

Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required — NY state certification preferred
  • Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • Experience in long-term care or nursing administration is a plus
  • Clear background check and current immunizations as required by facility
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, patient-centered approach
  • Ability to perform physical aspects of caregiving and follow safe lifting practices

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an approved Nurse Aide program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

  • Skilled in direct resident care and activities of daily living
  • Comfortable with clinical documentation and basic charting
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols and safety standards
  • Strong observational skills and timely reporting of clinical changes
  • Team-oriented mindset with good time management and prioritization
  • Adaptability to changing patient needs and per-diem schedules
