<strong>Can you help to build sustainable communities? <br><br></strong>Platform Housing Group believes in putting our customers first and by doing this we can build happy and lasting communities for all. That's why we need you!<br><br>We are currently recruiting for a Community Engagement Officer to cover the Herefordshire area. As a Community Engagement Officer, you will be working closely with customers to build strong and safe communities organising and developing a wide range of community engagement activities and projects.<br><br>This is a part-time role working 17.5 hours per week, and this will typically include shifts between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. There is some flexibility with working patterns, however there is some requirement for working evenings and weekends for community events.<br><br>Whilst this role covers the Herefordshire area, you will also be required to travel to our offices for training and team meetings. Our offices are based in Worcester and near Solihull. This role is on a fixed-term contract until no later than 31st March 2027.<br><br><strong>What can you expect from the role?<br><br></strong>You will work within the community to establish contact with individuals and groups from all sections of the community through meetings and outreach work to identify local issues and to work together on solutions.<br><br>By understanding the needs of the local communities, you will be able to support and manage community-based programmes to promote a healthy and happy environment for all our customers. You will be responsible for organising and developing a wide range of community engagement activities in line with our strategic objectives.<br><br>Teamwork is key to everything we do here at Platform Housing Group, and we believe those teams don't just include ourselves and our customers but a range of organisations, as well as working with these partners including local authorities and community partners & stakeholders.<br><br><strong>What are we looking for in you?<br><br></strong><ul><li>Previous experience working within a community-based role or role that was directly involved in supporting projects and programmes designed to help people and communities grow. </li><li>Be a people person, communication will be key to this role not only for working with our customers but also for working with external stakeholders.</li><li>Understand some of the unique challenges faced within social housing and understand our beliefs and values as an organisation.</li><li>Proven ability to actively identify new ways to engage successfully with customers and communities. </li><li>Experience of empowering communities to find solutions would be advantageous.</li><li>Due to the nature of the role the successful applicant will have a DBS check carried out before commencing employment.</li><li>The successful applicant will also need to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle.
